Frank and I had such a good day yesterday we thought we would hit the lake again after work today and see if we could recapture the glory. Put in at the Vincent road ramp around 5:45pm and ran out of the slew and fished down the bank. Frank got a 710 magnum Skeet Reece cranking rod and a Skeet Reece profile Baitcaster reel 7:1 ratio right before we left-In fact the UPS man delayed our departure for 30 minutes because he wanted to talk about fishing! Anyway, when we hit that bank, Frank immediately hooked up on a LMB with a strike king xd6 citrus. I was fishing my Norman chartreuse/blue. Five minutes later he hit another big fish on that strike king. We don't think it was a bass because it never came up- whatever it was it took that strike king and ran, broke 12 lb test with little effort. We fished down to the other Vincent ramp with out anymore action and took off across the lake to that slew with the private ramp where Frank hooked up on those big bass that got away yesterday. Fooled around there for a while without any luck, tried a variety of lures. I even tied on a orange worm just out of frustration and started fishing the middle of the slew. We saw some folks out fishing the break in the channel around the buoy's but they had left by this time so we thought we would try fishing deeper. We normally fish shallow, so this is uncharted territory for me. On top of that we don't have a fish finder, just the old Hummingbird flasher, so its our best guess where the break is and if there are any fish there. T-rigged worms and pig & jig here for about 20 minutes before deciding to move on. Ran up to the the area where there are two tree's sticking up out of the water and a small island. Its really shallow through parts of that. We bottomed out the boat a couple of times there. Frank managed to hook up on 3 more bass fishing another strike king in 5-10 ft of water. There were all pretty small but its always fun to get a bite. Meanwhile, I was just throwing no-confidence baits at this point because I wasn't getting any action on my Norman, and some others.

I never did get a bite tonight but at least we saw a couple of fish. Snapped the photos below just for the sake of the forum post, but nothing to brag on! At any rate the water was calm and the weather was nice so it was still fun times. Hopefully the next time we get out there we can find those fish!
