While I was still on active duty in the Air Force; my memory since Desert Storm had dwindled a lot. This greatly affected my job performance as I was forgetting tasks, scheduling issues etc.
So, What I did was come up with a list that I used daily and I also created one for weekly use. After several months of using my lists; my boss noticed a great improvement in my daily work performance. He commented on this and the next week he gave me my yearly counseling session (to let you know what level you are on). He asked me what I was doing to help make me get so much done compared to 6 months prior.
I showed him my lists and also informed him that I offered the use of my lists to 1 of the other supervisors and 2 of the younger troops and they all now use them.
About 3 months after my counseling session, we were getting a major inspection by Headquarters, Air Combat Command (ACC), The inspectors saw my list on a clipboard with the daily tasks written on it and asked where it came from. Everyone pointed to me and stated my name. They were very impressed and even asked my permission to use the lists and offer it to other shops through out the ACC and even would send it to other commands.
This is where my boss stepped in and added that he would like me to have the credit deserved and let the other shops / commands know who created it and to put my name at the bottom of it. They even considered adding it to the official documents listing (meaning any office in the US Air Force would have access to reprint and use them). Unfortunately I retired before finding out if my list was submitted and approved.
Since Retiring I removed my name and changed it so it wasn't as in depth.
I'm putting it here for anyone to print and use if you find it could help you or even your family.
