I picked up an older 5500 C3 2 Speed and I followed the video on Youtube for the 6500 C3 cleaning/rebuild and it still feels the same as it did before I opened it up. I'm pretty sure the drag washers are worn out also as I can pull on the line and a bit comes out (maybe it doesn't have an instant anti reverse), and then it still pulls out with some resistance with the drag all the way tight. I guess I can ship it off somewhere for a pro to open it up and determine what is worn out and needs replacing as it's a nice reel and the 2 speed feature might be useful.

Send it back to mfg, they will sen you a reconditioned 1 or repair yours... emoGeezer emoUSA

Bass Pro has a reel repair, and parts. Has to be sent to Springfield though.Check Hookless.com, Florida based specializing in round reels.

Call Matt Jenkins (jenco) in Cleveland. He fixed some for me. I don't have his number handy but if you want it I can get it tomorrow afternoon.
