Yep my bio Rhythms were off this morning. Don't worry BassmanIU, those topwater baits didn't stick the fish and they didn't stick you either.emoPoke

My Dad taught me that it's dangerous to side-arm cast where you swing the cast by your partner. He actually could switch hands and cast left handed. Of course, back in those days we were fishing out of 14 ft boats. I don't care how long the boat is, it makes me nervous when my partner whizzes a big crank bait in the direction of my head.

I learned a technique where I cast from over my left side in sort of a back-hand tennis stroke. RJS and I talked about this very thing when we fished together after the yard sale.

Yes, it stung pretty good...maybe it'll stop hurting tomorrow. It's not the exit wound that gets ya...it's the entrance wound. And I STILL haven't caught a fish over a lb since I cursed THAT one!emoBang emoSorry emoDoh

Thats a great example of why I net fish caught on anything with trebels. You just cant lip 'em! It looks like you got lucky enough that the barb came out the other side.

Hmmm ... that don't look good!!! I've had trebles in my thigh and shin before. I just pushed the barb on through, nipped it with a cutter and kept on fishin'.

I would say the location where that one went in, is PRETTY darn sore and will be for a few days. I suppose that'll cut down on the finger pointing in your life for a week or so. emoPoke

Did it go through your nail? If it did .. boy howdy .. that's a tough one. I'm hoping you don't get yourself an infection!

TT

Had side-cutters and clipped the hook, didn't lose the fish, went in 1/8 inch from the nail, and fished a solid 8 hours afterward. Still a bit sore (happened last SUN), but other than feeling stupid for letting it happen, none the worse for wear. That was the real p**ser, I know better...freak accident.emoDoh

I don't think fishing includes hooking your self.... Sorry, for the accident. Maybe the stars and moon was not lined up properly.... I feel your pain....FA
