Funny! Pretty little left set up *** for that right hook! Don Bowman was my friend and part time coach. Then my Met Life Insurance agent. He was instrumental in getting me involved in boxing many moons ago. I saw him KO an unhappy, disgruntled father of a participant at the Parade of Champions / Golden Gloves one night at the Memorial Auditorium. Don was the referee and this man's young son lost his match. When Don held up the winners arm the father of the young son jumped up out of the audience and hit Don in the back of the head! In an eye blink, Don whirled and hit this guy about 5 or 6 times as he was falling off the side of the ring and onto the floor. Out cold! Then true to form, mild mannered, soft spoken Don started apologizing to everyone there. He was completely embarrassed for what he had instinctively done! He was a good man.
