Have you guys heard of double gear ratio spinning reels?
Something flashed in my head when i first heard of that. Does it mean that we don’t need to take 2 or 3 reel & rod combos with us when go outside fishing? Will the two ratio both match one specific action & power rod? Seems to be reasonable to adjust to high gear ratio when searching the area to find where fish are holding, and to low gear ratio when getting bites.
What’s your thoughts of it? emoScratch

It might let you slow down or speed up a lure retrieve if you were switching between crankbaits. I don't see it thinning out my rods. Due to needing different rod strengths, line weights and just not wanting to be switching baits when you can just grab one of the others to try something and go back to what you were throwing.

Helpful for reeling in 300 lb yellowfin tuna but is seems silly for freshwater. Something to break instead of KISS.

Something like the electric toothbrush? emoScratch Mine has 3 modes of different vibrations, but actually i usually use the "clean" mode only. emoBang

I think it's a good versitile idea and hope this dual drive gear tech will show up in a baitcaster. I like this reel as you could pitch a dropshot jig or worm and take up line quickly. Then go to a hard bait with the slower retrieve.
