Blue Ridge Bassmasters club Tx #1 of the year out of Dandrige Ramp......13 boats..water level 47 feet below full 949 elev
First Place was about 5 1/2lbs with 3 LM...second had about 5 lbs with 4 LM and 3rd place was myself and my partner with a whopping 3.83 with 3 fish.....big fish was 4th place at 3.33
the day started out with a fair wind and quite a few crappie fisherman competing for the ramp...Crappie are jumping in the boat in several places on the upper end.
we caught our 3 fish on shad colored cranks and we tried to replicate the rock formation in shallow water pattern in several other places on down the lake but really never had another bite...
went back to our honey hole to finish the day and couldn`t get them to hit the cranks anymore so tried some different plastics and shaky heads stuff...had a couple of pecks but no hanger ons..
the wind was blowing in on us pretty good when we caught our fish and it kind of laid down after about 11 am and the fish biting seemed to die with it...
the shad die-off that was going on 2 weeks ago seemed to have finished...and the water temp was up about 5 degrees overall....45 in the back of McGuire Creek....40 plus on the main channell.
in about another month and another 20 feet of water and there will be some good sacks coming in .
