Looking to find a field around Chattanooga to take my son dove hunting. I usually pile in the twra fields by myself, but he's a little nervous. I figured someone may know of a pay field that would be ready the first week of season? Any help is appreciated much!

Still looking for something, I checked a few twra fields close to town and no work has been done. I would guess the rain made for late planting. I'm willing to work to help prep a field also. Any tips are appreciated, thanks

I have a feeling the rain is going to make for a lousy dove season. It looks like it isn't going to be letting up soon either!

Yeah, I usually don't just hunt on opening morning. Dove season is in and out until January. I figured it would be a stretch to turn green crops brown in two weeks but I'm sure somebody besides the state was able to plant on time. It's really a shame because the doves are showing up in decent numbers. Had two nest near the barn at work, ther were a couple dozen the other day in the heat of the day Picking leftover feed from goats. The early mild temps are helping I'm sure. Thanks for all the great tips and input!

Just FYI I checked a couple of fields in Sweetwater/ Philadelphia area Friday and they had been chopped and prepped for TWRA lease field in the last few days.

You may wanna stick with it even if it sucks, sounds better that what I've found around Chattanooga. Looks like we may make a dove field with bird food and a plow!
