Couple of buddy's and me went to Varner unit to hunt opening day turned out to be one of the best hunt's i have been on . came close to limit 11 doves before I ran out of shells . There were probably 40 or so people there talked with several folks who limited out . the dove were flying pretty steady we got there around 3:30 stayed till 7:00 the birds were still flying . would like to commend the TWRA they did a fine job and the bird's co operated.
Everyone there seemed to hunt safley with no one shooting at low birds . the site may be condemed due to all the lead that was deposited over that field though . Good hunting
