Made it out on ues to Varner Unit to scout the fields and figure out where the birds where coming from. Right about 6:45, they began pouring from the trees, literally hundreds of them. I figured this should be a good sign for Wed.
Yesterday, we made it out around 6, found us a good spot where we could cover the treeline I saw them coming from. I don't know if the wind was a different direction, or all the shooting had them completely messed up or what, but they mostly seemed to be coming from the other end of the field. We stayed out until dark and only shot two (we missed a whole lot more than that though!) Had a great time. I would say the birds were winning out there last night. We could see dozens sitting in the tree tops, they just wouldn't fly.
