So far the DI on my Hbird looks similar to the 2D sonar except in a different color scheme. I am not seeing the "images" anywhere. anyone familiar with this technology that can give me some basic settings?
Which Model? Down Imaging is created from a Razor THin Slice of Sonar whereas 2D Sonar is from a cone shaped coverage area. I run DI like SI match the boat speed and chart speed to keep the aspect ratio the same. I normally adjust DI Sensitivity one or two levels higher than SI. Also use the DI Enhance Sharpness feature on Low or Medium to help. On the DI from SI run it in Wide Coverage Area.
I am interested in this also, I have a 1198 and I dont see anything like the pictures you see of a brushpile if I go over one or lay downs there is no detail like I thought there would be.
I personally prefer the Blue or Ambers. I would try the different color palletes to see which one works best for your eyes. Freeze the screen with the 4 Way cursor and scroll thru the different color palletes and the data will stay the same and you can try the different color palletes to see what works best for you. Everyone's eyes like different colors. You can also do the same with sensitivity. I would recommend on that 587 HD DI to run the 455kHz DI it will give you the widest coverage area.
