Spur, I do a pretty good job of reading the threads I start. I just want to know what ideas are out there in setting drag to the pound test of line. I figure that a drag should be set and then not adjusted but many salt reels have drop off levers. And it seems that the line recomendations for a rod are ambitious, but only those that have broken rods in fight will really have an idea of how far a rod should be pushed. That thread took its own course any way. emoHijack I do not approve of going after large fish with obviously small tackle. I prefer actions that in practice conserve the fishery. And I also look for ways to better teach my nephews to catch.
