My 1st Dream Chasers and 2nd pl to boot! Started shallow near CFP. My 1st bite was a solid 3# on a square bill off a shallow weedline. Caught several slicks on a buzz bait and Fluke including a 2#- so, had 2 keepers quick. Moved about 7 miles and caught a slick and another 2# on a Carolina rigged 5"Senko about 11' deep. -3 fish Limit- Went shallow close by and nothing. Moved again 10 mi about 8A. My 1st keeper was my 5.60 on a square bill off a stump with brush and cinder blocks. At 1st I thought it was an average keeper until she saw the boat and I am glad to say my drag on my Lews was set perfectly cuz she made hard run under the boat several times taking a good length of line. A great cull of 3.6# So now I have a chance with one kicker sized fish. Worked my butt off power fishing all day and caught maybe 10 slicks and 5 more keepers all on a square bill. One keeper was a solid 3#. So I had 2-3's and a 6. Just couldn't find that illusive 5# that I needed. Just an added note, the last two events I fished, kept both my recirc and fill pumps running on manual in my port side livewell and I'm happy to say, no fatalities.
water temp today was only 83. Had fun fishing Dream Chasers. Great bunch of guys! Congrats to the winners and Rusty's big fish. Hope to be there next time.

Pardon my asking: What is the significance of the “Dream Chasers”name? Is it a civic organization, a name randomly picked or something else?

The name was something we came up with for most of us who love to fish and be competitive always chasing the Dream weather it’s catching a fish or a big fish or a limit or for anglers working there way through the ranks and chasing the Dream of fishing pro some day it just kinda stuck and we went with it.
