Here is some images showing how well Humminbird Switchfire 2D Sonar with the 200/83kHz Dual Beam Plus makes following your Drop Shot and finding the fish...Today the fish were bottom hugging but would come up to check out the Drop Shot. My rig consisted of a swivel with a 4" Finesse Worm about 12" below and a 1/8 oz weight a foot lower. You can see the Humminbird tracks the drop shot and locates the fish.

Dropin' on a Bass...

Bass gets all over the bait. You can tell by strength of return he's dead in the middle of the cone angle with Original Color Pallete by the bright red and all over the worm.

Here's where one strikes but a swing and a miss and tghen the fish goes back down.

Bass all over the screen. See how the sneak out of the bottom to come up and check out my bait.

I think I can see this one laughing at my Finesse Worm...Came up checked it out and went back down.

Humminbird Switchfire Max Mode makes it easy to vertical fish with the smallest of lure even in the deepest of depth.

Here's some help understanding what's going on in the images above.

hippi97 - 7/20/2011 10:02 AM Thanks for posting. I have got to learn to use my unit better.

It's a fun way to fish ! Louie B is a master of it. It's like playing a video game.</p>

I need to figure this out better as to what I am looking at. Usually I can discern my bait drop and see the fish on the bottom but DANG! I dont think I can tell a swivel from a bait! I feel like Rick Moranis in SpaceBalls - "WHAT THE HELL AM I LOOKING AT? WHEN DOES THIS HAPPEN IN THE MOVIE???" Youre looking at now. Right now. "WHAT HAPPENED TO THEN?" We passed it? emoLaugh

On my drop shot rig I tie a small swivel to the line then about a foot below tie the drop shot hook and finesse worm then about a foot below is the weight. That is why you can see all three. I'll take a picture of how I rig my drop shot. THe swivel keeps it from twisting the line as it falls also use swivel style weights.

Here's Picture of my Drop Shot Rig I use. This is why you see the Swivel, Bait and Weight as 3 Seperate lines in the above images.

Nice post Doug V. I love drop shotting and have helped people all over Ga and Tn learn the sight fishing technique. Here is a couple of video's showing sight fishing in action on my home Carters Lake where I guide full time. The 1st video is full of great sonar footage, the 2nd is a little grainy but shows off a nice 4lb quality spot caught while sight fishing. There are more video's on my website if you care to check them out.

Look at the Bottom Readout...0 MPH. You are looking at the Trip Log which display the Average Speed, Total Miles Covered and Time in that readout box.
