Dropshot, CFF #13, Smaller Bass than Earls, 9/29/2018, Copyman

We made the decision to head downriver. Stopped at Mullin's cove and I caught our first fish, which was a white bass, on a crankbait. Headed on downriver to Cave Lake looking for some clearer water and found it there. Dusty caught a short fish then I caught our first keeper...a 15 inch largemouth that looked like it had not eaten in years. To make matters worse it was hooked in the tongue and bleeding profusely. Got it in the livewell and it started on its side before finally swimming. We caught 5 more fish in cave lake, all short, and had two monster blow-ups on a frog that did not hook. Around 12:30 we decided to head back past sullivans to a spot and try it. After fishing for 10 minutes or so, I went to a dropshot on an eddy and caught 3 fish out of it, all three being keeper spots. Knew the weights were small so we did not even cull the last one, which would have definitely been an upgrade. Not a great day, but we did work out a limit. All fish caught on ned rig, creature bait, crankbait, and drop shot.
