Unfortunately, work commitments and family activities have kept use from prefishing the river.

We started out the morning choosing to stay fairly close and hitting the same water that had been fruitful on Day 1 of the classic last fall. Started out catching our first keeper quickly and within a few hours had a limit. I then realized that I was catching larger fish on the flooded posts and stick-ups in the water. Started targeting them and caught several more fish. Got to an extended doc and hooked the biggest fish of the day that came loose under the boat. For the sake of my sanity I called it a catfish. Decided to double back and fish area again when the hardest rain and winds of the day hit. Bite went cold for an hour before weather calmed and we caught another 5-6 fish in less than 10 minutes. Upgraded twice at the end of the day, but nothing big to brag about. All fish but one caught on soft plastics, with one on a lipless crankbait. Early fish caught in 8-12 FOW. Later in the day caught them in 1-2 FOW in flooded areas.

Congrats to all who weighed in good bags of fish, especially Pete and Calder, who put ita whooping on everybody.

Thanks Patrick. Good report and job of catching them. Sorry about the potential big under the boat.
