Glad to report some good news and some bad news. Good news...we did not run outof gas or have our batteries die. The bad news is that we caught way too many 13 inch spotted bass, so much so, that we finally quit trying to cull over what would have been ounces when we boated a fish.

Started out down river, and after missing what weresmall fish,Dusty hooked and I netted the normal river catfish, that we unhooked in the net. Shortly after, I caught ourfirst keeper on a topwater, after losing two earlier that became unhooked. About 20 minutes later I caught the second one.Shortly after, I caught another small keeper. After that we kept catching the same size 12-13 inch fish. Around midnight I hookedone that seemed to have some shoulders thatbroke off around an oldsteel dock that would have helped us. About twenty minutes before weigh-in Dusty was throwing a shaky head, hooked one, and felt that it was too small to get the net until it started running. It would jump at the boat and come unbuttoned in the 3 pound range.Difference in winning and losing are getting those bigger fish to the boat.

Caught15 fish, all on fluke, jig, creature bait, and worm. We sped back to the ramp and made it right at 2am.Locations we wanted to fish were really affected by water level and current.
