Do you guys use the same rods for drop shotting that you use for shakey head and it is worth spending the money on a high dollar drop shot rod or does a midgrade bass pro have enough feel? Is a 7 ft rod in a med light action the way to go?

Same here. 6'10" ML Xtra Fast spinning rod for finesse like ned rig, drop shot, light shaky head, weightless senkos.

I prefer a shorter rod when drop shotting. Been using a 6ft St. Croix med with fast tip. 8 or 12 lb P-Line flouroclear ( mostly 12) and a #1 drop shot hook. Use 1/8 oz weight most of the time a little heavier if windy 3/16 or 1/4

Thanks for the information as I had read move the bait not the weight...and I always wondered how the rod strength, tip action and length of rod helped to accomplish that
