2 and 2 1/2 lb fish are good fish for a COLD morning. We had ice in our rod guides till around 8:30. emoThumbsup

rsimms, do you by chance remember trying to chat with a couple of guys down around the golf and country club? If it wasn't you then nevermind.
If it was you, those guys weren't trying to be rude or anything, I believe they were just so "caught" up in trying to catch that monster smallmouth (that never bit by the way) they were totally focused on fishing and not chatting, especially the one wearing the ski mask.

I do remember... and it was me. I wasn't really looking for a big "chatfest." I was just bummed out I hadn't hustled on down there early and you beat me there. emoLaugh I was curious about what I might have missed? I could have crowded on in... but I really hate doing that to folks. I tried a few places up toward the dam before I headed down. The one big fish I lost was up there on a ditch. I did make a couple of drifts by the G&CC when I came back up, to no avail. You had milked it dry. emoPoke I get pretty focused myself. It really makes me mad when cell phones ring on my boat ... often folks looking for "fishing reports." I tell 'em (or tell clients to tell them), "how the heck do I know. I can't fish for talking on the phone." I think I'm going to institute a "no cell phone" rule on my boat.

Darn it!! WHY said after you left that he believed it was you. Shucks, we would not have cared if you would have drifted with us. It is sort of fun with another boat within talking distance. I think I picked up two small ones in that area, as a matter of fact, I'm surprised if you didn't see me catch one of them. We only had 3 smallmouth, 2 spots, and 1 drum. We did have a couple more pull loose, but pretty sure they were drum also. We only fished with artificial bait. The usual, corn dogs and grubs.
We fished several areas from the dam down to where you saw us. Seems like there is a lot more fishing traffic down there this year compared to last.
Oh well, next time we will try to be a little more observant and friendly!! I guess If I were more like TT I would have recognized you sooner, or at least ASKED you who you were. I can't believe I just said that (more like TT)????!!!! I'm getting sick.

We really need those CFF flags. Of course if we do that we'll spend all our water time in a "chatfest."
