I had a busy morning making breakfast for Mom and Wanda and then we had a Bible study around the table. Afterward, I made a French Coconut Pie and it is delicious. Wow! Then Candi shows up about 11:30 or so with a Buttermilk pie. Don't she know that we have just come off the Dream Drops Program??? But, I did taste her pie and it is delicious too. I may have gained a pound just smelling the aroma of both of those pies. DD round 3 coming up around tax time. Gotta lose 15 more lbs to reach my target goal. Then I'll buy new britches.
By then it was lunch time, so Wanda and I had a Rockfish salad. I got up early and baked a bag of Rockfish at 375 degrees for 20 minutes and then let them cool. Afterward, we broke up the fish into little pieces and slathered on the mayo and sweet pickle relish and let me tell you something. Tuna salad ain't got nothing on this. It is great. I may post a pic of it in a minute.
Now to the fishing report. I went out alone after 1:00 pm and did a little fishing in strange places just looking for post spawn crappie. I did manage to catch a very few, but they were big ones. I had my 2nd TARP black crappie of the year at 15.5 inches, but only 1 lb 12 ozs. The big girl had just about completely spawned out. A couple of dark males came aboard and 2 more females that had already done their spring fling. In the area that I caught the TARP, I saw another female crappie that looked bigger than the one that I caught, but couldn't get it to bite. I know where it is.
I fished one of my favorite docks on the way back to the ramp and caught a 13" male crappie and then hooked a very big catfish that pulled drag, and then the fish got off. When I inspected the line, I noticed that the knot was still intact, but I must have had an eyelet that was opened just slightly. emoBang
I fished with BG slab slayers totally. Outlaw special, but Ghastly Minnow was the best color for me. I used both 1/16 and 1/32 oz jigheads.
Going turkey hunting in the morning, I think. Wish me luck. I have been trying to kill one of those suckers for 4 or 5 years now. I'm about due. emoBigsmile emoGeezer
Oh, I caught a 2 lb smallmouth bass too.
