Phil and I got out this morning and fished from 7 to 10 AM for crappie. We did good. We landed about 40 total with 11 keepers going home with Phil from 11 to 13.75 inches long. We had about another 10 or so that were 10", but they were released to spawn this next season. Crystal shad with a chartreuse tail light was the ticket today. We used both 1/16 and 1/32 oz jigs and fished docks. On deeper docks, we fished with the heavier jigs and on docks that were around 12 deep, we fished with 1/32 oz. Seems that most crappie were deep, nearly on bottom. We did catch a few at an 8 count, but most were 14 to 20 count deep.
I will be doing double duty today. Cuonthelake is picking me up at 12:00 at WT ramp for another foray. We may stay in the creek, but will go where ever she wants to fish. Looking forward to a fine time with her. emoBigsmile emoGeezer
