I was invited by tp44 and his son Dewayne to accompany them this foggy morning on a crappie search on the Chick. We launched the boat and were idling out toward the main river when we ran across a school of crappie and were alert enough to throw a marker and go back and fish for a few minutes. Dewayne and tp44 both caught a nice white crappie and a couple of yellow bass. I had 3 bites. emoBang The bites were from those small yellow bass and not a sandwich. emoBigsmile When we couldn't find any more crappie willing to bite in the fog, we continued on to our first community hole.

We caught several of the 25 keepers that we had today. Those fish weighed 19 lbs 12 ozs per Wayne (tp44). A really nice mess of crappie. We fished Bobby Garland plastics in various colors with Ghastly Minnow being the hottest color. But today, the fish would bite any color, I think. We moved to a couple more places and caught fish on a dock and several short fish. We all decided to quit fishing around 12:30. Wayne lives in Etowah and DeWayne lives on Watts Bar lake and I had doctor appt. in the afternoon. It was a very nice day to fish after the fog lifted. Not a breath of wind. Glassy calm water. The I-Pilot on tp44's boat didn't have any trouble staying on spot today. Unlike Crazy Ivan who goes nuts when the wind comes from a different direction than the current.

Thanks for taking me fishing today, guys. I look forward to another trip with you when you want to go. Maybe hit Watts Bar and look for some of those crappie up there. emoBigsmile emoGeezer Wayne has most of the pics today. I will post the ones that I took.

OK, just a little late getting my two cents worth in. After cleaning the boat, supper, etc finally got started cleaning the fish. We put five ( 5 ) family packs in the freezer. Dickey, thanks for the trip today. Duane and I sure did enjoy the company and as usual, all the tips from the crappie king. Not too bad for about three hours fishing. BTY, Duane checked a place or two on the Bar after he got home and caught a really nice one, probably 13 or so inches.
