What a blast I had today. The Kid invited me to share his boat today and what a ride we took. He blindfolded me and took me to places that I didn't even know existed on this lake. We fished mostly docks and had off and on rain showers nearly all day. We did hit one window of sunshine for about 30 minutes before the hardest rain came. It was a tough bite.

But, we did catch 15 keepers and at least that many or more throwback size. I caught a TARP 14.5 inch Black Female that looked to be nearly spawned out. I also had a turtle, Channel catfish, and one of my pets of about 15 lbs. What a hoot on 4 lb test Vicious line and ultralight rod. Brian caught a bunch of fish too, but wouldn't let me take a pic of him. Actually, I did get one pic on his camera of a black nose that he caught under a dock.

He stuck with Outlaw Special Bobby Garland jigs and I fished both BG's and Shadpoles. I fished mostly with 1/24 oz jigs and he had 1/32 oz mostly. We did hit a couple of deep docks and went to 1/16 oz jigs. That is where the Drum and 1 crappie came from.

Brian caught the biggest Channel catfish, but I bested him on the crappie, Drum, and turtle. emoBigsmile

Thanks for taking me today, Brian. I really appreciate it much and look forward to doing this again soon. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

Glad you 2 legends got together. Would loved to have been a fly on the wall so to speak to just listen to you guys talk fishing. Maybe before the summer ends I can get you guys in my rig. Thanks for the report and the pix. I did wonder if some of these killer supper plate pix
came up!!!!!!!

The bite is really slow right now. Be glad when they get to where they are going and start eating again. In the mean time you can find me on the river.

Brian was looking so forward to fishing with you and wished for better fishing but gushed about spending the day with you anyway. You're the TOP MAN in fishing and I know for a fact he looks up to you like none other. I'm glad you had a good day nonetheless! Look forward to seeing you at the wedding in September too :)

Thank you, Tina. The feeling is mutual. I had such a good time with Brian yesterday. It has been a dream of mine to do more fishing with him. We are going to fish one tournament together, but not all of them.

Wanda and I will definitely be at your wedding in September. Congratulations. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

I got to hear about this trip today first hand, and I was most blessed to get to fish and learn from the 2 best crappie guys on lake chickamauga.....If you ever get invited to fish with one of these guys you better jump at the opportunity! Now if I can just get in the boat with both of them at the same time I can mark if off my bucket list! emoLaugh emoWorthy
