drumking, chickamauga, crappie, bass, yellow bass, 2/18/2011, Dr Phil, Labman, Hal, Mark Camp
Weekly fishing report:
Sunday 2/13/2011 Fished with Dr Phil for crappie, but caught mostly bass. 2.75 largemouth was biggest fish caught. Only 3 crappie were caught. 1 yellow bass. Fished with 1/16 oz jigheads with bobby garland plastics. We fished 3.5 hours. Not a good day.
Monday 2/14/2011 Fished with Bayman at the Riverpark. We were mostly running his boat motor after the long layoff for winter. We were out 2 hours and didn't get a single bite. emoBang
Tuesday 2/15/2011 Fished alone and was mostly a scouting, checking water temps, looking for exposed brush in various places. Fished just a little bit and had no bites. Water temp in mid 40's. 2 hour trip.
Wednesday 2/16/2011 Fished with Labman for crappie. We found a huge school of small crappie and must have caught 30 to 40 fish in about 30 minutes. We then moved to an off shore structure and caught a couple more crappie. Then we hit several different spots, docks, bluffs, etc. and didn't get another bite. We caught our fish on 1/32 oz jigs and BG plastics. slab slayers, bg shads, and panfish assassins.
Thursday 2/17/2011 Fished with Hal out of Chester Frost Park. Windy day, but water temps rising. Almost got stuck on a bar but managed to get off it without having to get out of the boat and pushing it off. 8 crappie caught, 1 golden shiner, and 1 turtle. Did I say that the wind blew, and blew and blew? If I didn't, then let me say that the wind did blow. We saw some water temps in the back end of one of our creeks that reached 55.9 degrees by 3:00 pm. We hit that area at the tail end of the feeding period. Short but sweet.
Friday 2/18/2011 Fished with Bayman again in Wolftever for bass. We caught several yellow bass, 1 crappie, and 1 largemouth bass in 2 hours of fishing. We caught all of the fish but one in one particular slough. The fish came on a chartreuse suspending Rapala lure that I forgot what the name is. It is a small lure, but the fish really liked it. emoBigsmile emoGeezer
