Dr Phil and I got out for about 3.5 hours this AM for a little crappie fishing. We fished docks, deep brush and deep roadbeds. We caught about 20 crappie total with 8 going home with Dr Phil. Nothing over 12.5. We caught several in the 10 to 11 inch range. Many more little ones.
Bobby Garland lures in 1/24 and 1/16 oz jig heads and outlaw special and blue thunder worked the best. The fish were deep. I am happy to report that we caught about 4 off some new bamboo buckets that I put out a few weeks ago. I believe it is in a great spot.
We talked to another CFF member (I won't call his name) for a few minutes. He is a great guy. After we left, he fished in the area that we were in and there was another boat a couple hundred yards away or so and was there while we were fishing. We never got any closer than 200 yards from whoever this person is. Anyway, to make a long story short, our fellow CFF member eased on by this guy coming no closer than 40 yards or so and the guy yells at him. My friend asked him is he had a problem and the guy lets our buddy have an earful of crap. I didn't know who this person is, but if I'm out there and he makes a scene like that with me, I'll put my boat right next to his and fish with him. If he is a lurker on here and knows who he is, then you know who I am too. Don't start that crap with me.
No pics today. Just a fishing tale. Wait a minute. I think that I did take one pic. I'll check my camera and come back and post it maybe. emoBigsmile emoGeezer
Oh, I nearly forgot. I hooked a big fish and I think that it was a bass. Just got a glimpse of it as the jig came flying out of its mouth. I had it on for about 1 to 2 minutes and thought that I had it whipped, but alas, it got away. I'm calling it a bass, but you know what I always say. If it was big and you didn't see it, it was a drum. emoUpsmile
