drumking, Riverpark and Chickamauga, Catfish, Bass, and Crappie, 20 Sept 2013, Wanda, Candi, Polo
I actually have 4 fishing trip reports to make today.

Sept 17 - Wanda and I got out for 2 hours of scouting and fishing. Only 2 White crappie, but a couple of Bass. One that I was proud of. It hit a 2" Baby Shad Bobby Garland Screamer on the first cast that we made on a community dock. I had shot the jig way back up under this dock and it was a Ray's dock so it had wooden posts everywhere, but no cross members. Thankfully. The fish was suspended shallow under this dock and we were in 18 feet of water. When I set the hook, the fish started swimming straight back at me and not around the posts, although I was actually touching the dock with the side of my boat. It was a big bass. I weighed it and let her go. The digital scales rocked back and forth between 5.0 and 5.1. I'm saying 5.0 bass.

It jumped 2 times and then made a surge back under the dock and around one post and I thought that it would break off, but it reversed course, came back around the post and surged again toward other posts and I put as much pressure as I dared on this 4 lb Visious co-polymer line and it held up. Wanda got the net ready and when the fish tired, I handed her the rod and scooped the fish into the net. Wanda then caught another bass under this dock, but my fish could have eaten the fish that she caught. emoBigsmile

Sept 18: Fished with Candi about 2 to 3 hours for Crappie. We landed about 20 fish from docks. She put on a show as usual. I love it when the student beats the teacher. That means that I did a good job of teaching her how to crappie fish. The biggest fish that day was a White Crappie that Candi caught but was barely under the TARP limit. It was 13.75 inches. emoBigsmile

Sept 19: Fished with Polo for 1.5 to 2 hours last night. Check out Polo's report for the details and pic.

Sept 20: Fished with Candi at Riverpark for catfish today. Candi wanted to expand her fish catching knowledge, so I showed her the Richard Simms technique for catching eaters today. We landed 14 and must have had 40 bites from squeakers. She did land one that was on the verge of spooling her reel and it was nearly around the big motor, so old Drumking, started raising the motor and broke the line off. emoBang We fished from 8:30 until 1:00 pm. She was using Rsimms favorite bait, chicken breasts, and I was using shrimp. We landed 4 blue cats and 10 channel cats. I kept 3 blues to eat tonight for supper. She caught 8 and I caught 6. That woman can catch fish. emoBigsmile emoGeezer
