It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...No wait, that line has already been used. The 3 stooges got together this am at the Riverpark around 7ish. Actually, FA and DK got there early and had to wait on the boat and MadBomber. After a word of prayer, we launched the boat and started out on our day's adventure. I really enjoyed the day of fellowship and fishing. We landed 36 fish total. We must have hooked up on that many more that either broke our lines or jumped off before coming aboard. We were not using MadBomber rules today or we would have had 60. emoBigsmile
Of the 36 that did come aboard, 33 were bass, 2 catfish and 1 goggle eye. I had the excitement of fighting and landing a 13.5 pound bluecat on my ultralight line with 1/16 oz jig and ringer stinger. While I was fighting this fish, Fat Albert caught the best smallie of the day among us. We each caught a couple of smallmouth. FA is really good with the boga grips. The net that MB has wasn't big enough to get the big catfish in. There were some tense moments as we were waiting on FA to get his pic with the smallie, then find the bogo grips, and finally landing this brute. After getting the fish in the boat, the little jig just fell out of the top of his mouth. I don't see how I ever landed this cat. emoEek
I fished in the back of the boat and had the advantage of the other two as my lure was seen first most of the time. I caught one spot while just holding the rod on my lap with the jig about 2 feet under the boat as I was putting another spot in the livewell. MadBomber told me that I had to quit fishing when I caught my limit. emoBigsmile
We started at the dam this morning and caught several fish before making the run downtown. We caught several fish, but it was really slow I thought. A lot of times, you can catch 100 or more of these fish. We will do this again soon. emoBigsmile emoGeezer
It really was sort of embarassing watching FA fish with Pink Crocs on this AM. I'll leave MB to tell the story about the shoes.
