Dr Phillip Gawthrop and I did what we call "combat" fishing below Watts Bar dam this AM. What an exciting 3 hours of fishing. We came away with nearly 100 lbs of fish including a limit of Stripers, and 11 White Bass. I caught a 57", 32 lb Paddlefish that nearly whipped me to exhaustion. Took me 30 minutes to land the thing. It was released since the fish is not in season. One lone Skipjack on the first cast this morning completed our catch today.

Combat fishing for sure.Lots of pulling power in those boys. The last paddle fish I caught jumped like a sailfish.
Nice catch.

Foley spoons fished Carolina rigged with 1/2 oz egg sinker, bead, swivel, and 20 lb test Suffix mono leader with braided line. Fish were high in the water column. Never a dull moment when they are running 4 turbines and only one semi calm spot over the #5 turbine. Situations like this is where my Terrova I-Pilot really shines. Spot lock held us up there even though the water was pretty violent. This is not for the weak hearted and is the reason that we call it combat fishing. Grin.
