Dr Phil and his son-in-law wanted to make a trip to the Watts Bar dam tailwaters this AM, so I obliged. emoBigsmile It was a very slow day for everyone up there. We saw one other boat catch a drum and one other boat caught a small brown fish of some sort. It could have been a small drum. From the distance, it didn't look big.
We fished all the current seams, what little they were as there was only 1 turbine running and it wasn't very hard. But, we managed to find one small area that yielded 10 boat paddle sized White Bass and 3 drum. We had to work hard to get these fish and we gave "crazy Ivan" a real workout today. I'm proud of the I-Pilot in the current. But, I'm not happy with the remote. Sometimes, it takes 10 or 12 pushes on all the buttons to get the darn thing to come on. The battery in it is the correct one and is only about 1 month old, so it shouldn't be bad. I feel like throwing the thing in the river, but at $150 dollars, I guess I better keep it and try to remedy the situation.
We were using plastic swim baits with 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 oz size. Hopefully, there will be more current next time I go up there. emoBigsmile emoGeezer
