Well, D has been saying all year, he wanted to go hunting with me this year, but he wasn't going to shoot. He wanted me to kill one. I haven't killed in a few years, waiting on the one I want. D has killed 4 nice bucks in the last two years, and was just trying to be nice. Well opening day of rifle he and I was sitting in the stand together. We saw several 1.5 and 2.5 year old deer, then around 7:45 we saw a monster step out after a doe at about 250 yards down the powerline. D immediately had a gun on him and asked if he could make the shot. I told him sure, as he killed an 8 last year at that distance while laying on the ground. Well long story short, the deer never gave a decent shot. Everytime the deer would stop he was either facing us, away from us, or had doe between us and him. Needless to say after seeing him D's attitude about me killing changed quick. About 15 minutes later we see a nice 8 coming through the woods to a doe that was standing out in powerline, at first he thought it was buck from earlier, but after a few seconds realized it wasn't same deer. Buck fever took over, and he was ready to kill. He took this nice 2.5 year old 8 with 20" outside spread. Now he says it's my turn.
