I won a 7' MH and wondered if it will make a good brush hog rod? The reel will be a Quantum
Smoke SL100SPT 6.3

Duckett's run a bit light for the labeled action. That one might make a better spinnerbait or trap rod. </p>

I have several Duckett MMP Rods, 9 or 10 from ML to H, in all different lengths as well. I've been fishing Ducketts a little over 2 years and haven't had any of them fail on me yet. The only issue I've had is when I use a fluoro leader on my spinning rod. The knot has to be super small to fit through the micro guides.
As far as your question goes, the MH action is great for sparse grass, docks, and small structure. My H rod gets the job done in grass and big lay downs as well! I've been looking for an XH rod but never can seem to find one in stock at any of the local retail stores. Eventually, I'll either have to order one or come across a lightly used one for sale!
The rod's sensitivity is top notch in my opinion and gives me a ton of positive feedback when it comes to bottom composition. I do have to agree with the other members' comments regarding the rod's action being a bit light or softer compared to other rods I fish with especially in thick or heavy grass. At times, my H action rod feels like a MH and even M when I'm dragging or ripping a jig that's 3/8's oz or heavier through heavy grass.
I am in no way, shape, or form affiliated with or sponsored by Duckett Rods... just your average weekend warrior whose fishing trip usually ends up turning into a boat ride or fall color cruise, lol!

Have a couple ducketts. Like them a lot but they are the first really good rods I have had.
