Was wondering if anyone had a sure way of getting lure dye out of carpet? I've tried spike-it neutralizer and it didn't work very well. stain is still there.

Call or E-mail the guys at Pro Lures. They make and sell the stuff and they are also one of our sponsors. They can probably help you out.

I don't know if it will work on this, however an old-time remedy for ink stains someone taught me long ago is hair spray. Not the new pump style but the old time aerosal-type hair spray. I don't know what is the "active ingredient," but I know firsthand that it will remove ink stains from nearly anything.

You may have a permanent stain on your carpet. The synthetics in the carpet most likely were dyed by the lure dye. If that be the case.......Sorry.

The most productive chemical to remove stains like ink and markers is liquid insect repellants containing Deet. Apply Insect repelent liberally to the stain and rug it in with something like the edge of a small wood block. It make take a couple minutes to see it start to cut the stain. If you see the color coming out and onto the block you then can start scraping it to the center and absorbing it on a towel. To finish the job you must use a cleaner designed to cut oils and stains. Fast Orange hand cleaner should be applied and brushed in. Towel out as much as possible and then pressure wash the area to blow the remainder of the stain out while it is still somewhat deluded.

Good luck with that one. Have you thought about dying your entire boat carpet with matcing colorful worm dye?emoLaugh

along the same lines as RSimms, shampoo will also remove ink, i used some a couple months ago to remove a 3" pen mark on one of my white dress shirts, the ink came out completely. its something easy to try, as i would guess you have some in your house right nowemoCool
