how do you compare a 2-stroke to a 4-stroke? That is like comparing a CR 500 motorcycle to a Harley. By the way, they did tests in the old days, and put a CR up against a CBR, and the CR won in a quater mile......has more torque

Don't get me wrong cheez, was not directing that at you.....I should have said "they" instead of "you" in my first post. False advertising just sticks in my craw.
I think these comparisons are all pretty bad. Evinrude likes to compare their motors with the four stroke motors to try to look good. The ETEC's are pretty good motors but they aren't any better than anything else.I have owned etec, hpdi, and optimax and I like the opti's a little better. In mahazine shootouts the mercs usually do pretty good.
