Went on an annual trout fishing group trip PFF (psycho fly fishers) up in E. Tenn.
Fished a couple of small streams on Friday
Fished the S. Holstein on Saturday. It's a very technical river. Gin clear zero flow in the morning. Caught a few dinks on #18 BH.
Went downstream in PM to catch the water coming up around a hatch.
VERY Frustrating to see lots and lots of big trout hitting topwater in front of you and not be able to match the hatch.
Finally got some takers on a 18.BWO parachute behind a 12 stimulator.
we each caught a couple of respectable fish 15" range and some dinks.
Sunday we fished another small stream and caught tons of dinks and then ...........
THE ONE awsomne fish of the weekend. !7" wild brown took a topwater EHC and pounded it. It scared me then I remembered to raise my rod tip and hold on. Lots of fun on a 4wt with 6x tippet
