December 27, 2012 Thursday, From my stand I see three deer... Three does but one is a heavy big body deer.. Closer look and it is a big buck with the antlers gone. I see big fresh Stubs so I know it had just dropped it's antlers. Is this somewhat strange for a healthy buck to havealreadyshed this early? The other Two bucks I got there a few weeks ago had heavy mass. This looks like the big 8 pointer I filmed and allowed to pass chasing does.

This buck was feeding along with the two does as if he was just another doe. I thought that was a little strange as well.

He popped em back on after he got by you, I know because that's whats been happening to me, jokes aside I live in grundy county an have heard some people talking about that happening around here, you would think a bad winter would cause this but we haven't had much cold weather.

Guy from work got a pic of one on side of the road today that was missing one side. Don't know if it broke off or shed.

have 2 freinds that live and hunt around cagle mnt for years they have seen deer drop racks in dec ,not all do but they tell me several mature deer will.

I hunted Catoosa a couple of weeks ago and saw a deer with 3 pts. on one side. the other side was gone. I was talking to a guy when I came out and he told me his partner saw 2 bucks the week before with horns on 1 side, and he found a shed that was bloody in the same area. Thats strange, because I have seen bucks in Georgia in March with antlers or one side missing. What area are you hunting?

I have seen several deer shed in December in Illinois. I read somewhere if they hit the rut early and there hormones hit a peak early they could shed early, especialy the dominate bucks. The two biggest sheds I have ever found were in late December.

He was seen is the exact same location I filmed this. This looks like the buck I allowed to pass here as you see. Those are the Does as well (pretty sure)... I have been watching for him since. I think he just got himself a free pass until next year. Good for him. He is truly a good looking Fellow.

My buddy shot a half an 8 on our lease yesterday. It was dropped, not broken. Weird part it was young and following does.

Today I saw the young Buck in front of me for about 30 Minutes, He is NOT the Buck in my video but One I saw several times under my stand, He was an 8 pntr but a smaller rack. The nubs are smaller and the body size in smaller that the video Buck Churly, I will tell you something strange; Two days ago I saw a fresh pawing in a scrape in a scrape line. Today one had been hit hard with fresh soil still on top of the snow.. Then I found a second fresh pawed Scrape. Why would they be doing this now?

The yearling does are coming in. Another friend of mine shot a 10 saturday night here by the house. It was chasing a tiny doe. It happens every year it seems.
