Took day off from Knoxville to fish with UTK college buddy from GA and did not look forward to the muddy water. Put in above Cotton Port (trying to find some clearer water) and got there ~10:30. First stop 52 degree water main channel 4 lb LM and within 3 casts 2.5 lb LM both on 1/2 oz Redeye. Moved further upriver from there and did catch a few others but none bigger than the 4lb except for the 4 drum with the biggest over 8 lbs and the 20 lb-ish catfish that was foul hooked in the pectoral fin (what a fight) Partner caught a few keepers on red square bill cb on the main channel. Wind was stiff most of the day. Last stop (below cotton port still main channel) about 2 hours before sundown had what was initially thought to be another drum but turned out to be a ~7lb LM that was moving like a freight train. Toward the trolling motor, under the boat, toward the prop. It was awesome. I will work on getting photo. All of these weights are guesses since the battery was dead in the scale for the bass and the cat and the biggest drum did not come aboard but they did get give me back my redeye but missing one barb. Max main channel water temp we saw was 54.
