Since joining the forum and watching YouTube videos ,Senko worms seem to be great at catching bass.
What makes them so unique?
So many videos show fish that have swallowed these things. A couple show caught bass with them hanging out the back end !!!
Where can I buy them?
Thanks.

They are just super versatile. You can rig them just about anyway you can think weighted or weightless. They have enough weight to them that they will still cast pretty far without any weight and they skip under stuff super easy weighted or unweighted. I personally use the magnum finesse trick worm instead of the senko now but they are all very similar. I used to fish them all the time wacky for smallies and finicky fish. Always caught a lot of fish that way. I'm pretty sure just about everywhere has them and even walmart.

Thanks. Is Senko the brand name or the style?
I prefer lighter sinkers for worm fishing so I'm glad they may not require it.

Go to Soddy Tackle , as for the color working for most . They pour their own on site... great guys.

Ill check them out . I'm up there A lot. I've always liked black or purple. My brother and I used to kill them on black with red tails and metallic red. I have a pack of bubblegum pink worms I haven't mustered the courage to try yet.LOL.

No wrong way to fish them. Fish them weightless, texas rig, Carolina rig, ned rig, dropshot, wacky rig. You can also fish them on a 12 inch leader on a swivel and work them much like a fluke. I prefer the original Yamamoto brand, but they all catch fish.

I use Yum Dingers hook them right through the egg sac or you can buy the O-rings that fit

There is all kinds of Senko type worms on the market and I can't make myself pay the price for the Senko brand with others on the market that cost a lot less and do the same thing

I finally bit the bullet and got the o-ring set up for wacky fishing and man what a difference. Will save you a ton of money on senkos. Been picking them off from under the docks.

I use the Gary Yamato, I think thats the correct spelling, 5" Watermelon with black flakes and do pretty good with them. Yes you can throw them pretty fare without weights.. I have actually never used them with a weight... I Texas rig them.. Been having pretty good results around the edge of tall grass on the banks with them lately!

Yamamoto’s favorite color of senko to fish is white with pepper specs. It was hard to find. Had much success wacky rigged.

I have been making my own for about 10 years and I like mine because they will float a 3/0 worm hook and they make great twitch baits to skip under docks cause they float or sink very slowly. When T-rigging them I use a 3/16 oz Tungston bullet weight and they will float up away from the weight and almost stand up just teasing a bass to hit it. Wacky rigged they will float just below the surface drawing some vicious strikes. There are advantages to not haviing all that extra weight most bait companies add to their baits.

I've been using Softy's stick baits for years. He's even done some custom pours for me for use in special conditions or presentations. His baits are made using a buoyant plastic so you get a different action from the salt impregnated brands.
