i was going to buy a boat i'm new to boating the guy selling it said electrical problem can that be a big problem to fix or easy fix i am a electrican

Are you talking about electrical problems on the boat or on the motor. The electrical problems on the boat can be straighted out in time but on the motor can be a costly thing. No part on a motor is cheap.
