Ronnie (Meatman) Sexton was unavailable Friday night and so Mr. Tim Picket agreed to fill in during his absence Friday night. We blasted off and ran down river to our first stop. Tim hooked up on something really big on his first cast with a chatter bait. But about half was to the boat it came unbuttoned? Oddly enough, I also hooked up on my first cast with a shakey head and after a lenghty tug of war battle I boated about a thirty pound drum! Tim caught our first keeper just afterwards on thr chatter bait. Then we caught a couple of short fish a piece. We went back up stream and made another pass on that same stretch of water but to no keepers. We moved to another long stretch and pounded it with chatter baits, spinner baots, tubes, jigs and shakey heads. but again no fish. With about one hour left to go I fired up the Stratopotomus and ran all the way back up river to the concrete. I quickly caught a keeper and then a short fish on a shakey head. Then with less than thirty minutes to go before weigh in Tim catches three fish in about six cast. He adds our third fish and culls another one out. We weighed in our three little fish at 8.56 lbs. I believe. That was sgood enough for third place?! Congrats to Rusty and Brian with the win. They showed out and brought in a good bag I think that was 15 lbs! Thanks to all that participated and I hope to see you all August 28th up on the Chick at CFP. Probably gonna be a hot one so lather up the sun screen!
