I ran way up the river. It was misty, cloudy and we had rain. It was hard to see with the pelting rain but I made it finally to what i thought was going to be my first stop. But there was a boat setting there so I went on to another stop. I caught a nice 4 lb. plus really quick on a shakey head worm. Then a keeper Spot. I missed one. then caught a short fish all in about 20 minutes. Finally i caught another keeper Spot. So I had three in the box early. It's just that I thought would cull out the Spots for a couple of bigger Largemouths but it just didn't happen. About 11:30 I decided to go back down the river and throw a frog and try to upgrade but never had a blow up. For the day I had 8 bites all on a Shakey. I caught 6 fish (three were short) and missed 2. So with that My three fish weighed in at 7.19 lbs. and was good enough for third place and the 4 lb. fish was the big fish much to my surprise! Congrate to Rusty White on the win with 10 lbs. plus. Also congrats to Billy Campbell and Steven Hall on wrapping up another Angler of the Year points standing award. I think they have won 5 AOY's now so way to go guys!
