Tried out lake junior again and had an awesome time. My dad caught his limit in rainbows, and I also caught 5 keepers. I caught a few other bows but they weren't large enough to my liking. They seemed to be hitting crickets, meal worms, and green powerbait the most. Not much luck with corn or rooster tails. Plan to go again today. And maybe try chester frost for crappie this evening. Can someone point me to the right area for good slabs of crappie at chester frost?

Thanks for the info at Lake JR. I have never fished it. I would dock shoot at Chester Frost and at the deeper docks in Dallas bay there across from The ramp. I know that you can catch some on those docks. 8-10 count with 1/32 oz jigs were what worked Wed and Thurs. Have fun.

So the crappie stay in the docks even when the water level is only about 6-9 ft or so this time of year? I really am curious as I have not done much dock shooting.

end of flesh.

Thanks for your report. How long were you and your dad on the lake? And were you in a boat or the shore, and how did you have your rigging set up? Just curious as I have not had much time to get on the lake, and so far I have not been able to figure it out with it being high this year.

As for fishing chester frost, I personally have only fished from the pier. However this map that another member on the forum originally shared might help you think of a good place to fish if you have a boat.

I do not have a ton of experience, but my understanding of crappie would be that the underwater islands on the map, and the steep drop off areas near the island(as well as the areas where there is a narrow channel) are the places I am going to target if I ever have the opportunity to get a canoe or kayak out there.

Hope that helps a little bit
