What a fun weekend, I got to spend time with a great cff'er Jerry Mauldin, aka Doghouse on the forum. Jerry was kind enough to let me bring my nephew and brother over to see if my lil(well he is almost bigger than me lol) nephew, Scout could get his first deer. After my brother drove over 1100 miles this week for work, needless to say he wanted to get a Lil sleep before going over Saturday morning. We left towards the end of the monsoon that came thru Friday night. Got there and got in the stand around ten, they sat to dark and right at dark, two came out but they were walking about 150-175yrds, a little to far for his first shot at a deer. Earlier about twenty turkeys came about forty yards from them so scout enjoyed them. Day two scout spots six down in a hollar but they were spooked and gettin some gone, sat to 1230 and they saw one more doe in a field way of. Jerry, THANK YOU AGAIN!!! For a great time!!!!

They saw lots of wildlife, tame life, spend great father and son time together, you can't get any better in life than that right there.... Nothing like father and son racing to see how many pee bottles each one can fill up, who can go more, hmmm now we know why the white tails were up and running!!

My oldest daughter is chomping at the bit. She will be 6 next year, just in time for the Juvy Hunt. She told me she wants to shoot a bull elk first.lol. I gotta quit watching these hunting shows with her, so she has a realistic expectation...

Reading this makes me look even more forward to the day I can spend time in the woods with my kids! I commend everyone who has taken effort to get the young uns in the woods!

Amen. Im still all puffed up over Olivia geting one on the ground. Our time spent this season is untouchable. You learn a lot about your kids this way...
