I recently bought a new stainless prop from the guys at Performance Propeller. I put the thing on, and went out to Chester Frost yesterday. I started the motor and put it in reverse and heard the awefullest rattling and vibration I've ever heard. Shut it off and trimmed up because I thought the prop was loose on the shaft. Yes it sounded that bad! Everything was tight so I cranked up, backed off the trailer and tied off to the dock. After parking I started to idle out of the no wake zone and this thing sounds terrible!!! It actually sounds like there are splined missing off the shaft and the prop is slipping and catching on them. I dont know any better way to explain whats going on but when I throttle up to about 1100 RPMs it shuts up and sounds normal but its a little much for a NO WAKE area as far as my wake goes and messes up the quality of my side imaging. emoBang I guarantee I can put the aluminum one back on and the sound will go away. Any of you guys heard anything like this or know what it mught be? Going to call Performance Propeller this afternoon but thought some of you actuall boaters may know whats going on here. Thanks for any help and no the stainless prop didnt help at all I feel like I waisted nearly $300 bucks emoBang emoBang emoBang emoAngry
