Hi gang,
Just a quick equipment question--anyone use the BPS D. Fritts cranking reels? It looks as though they're based on the old Lew's speed spool or Browning equivalents (which, as I understand, were built by Shimano). Are these reels worth the hype? Do you really get better casting distance? I'm wondering about finding a used one and 'tuning' it just for the heck of it. I like my Curado 101B's, but I would like something a little more robust for ultra deep cranks. Curado 101's with modified 5 to 1 gears are great down to about 14 feet, but after that I need more torque.
Any input?
