Well, OK, a BIG (27 pound) smallmouth buffalo. Foul-hooked in the dorsal fin on 6 lb test, it was the best fight of the day. Took for-ev-er to finally net the beast. Just thought I'd get our bass guys all excited!
Well, my 5 fish bag did weigh 153 lbs! All on 6 lb test line. And not a single fish was caught on a Tennessee/Alabama rig either!
A really good day for fish, I had no idea what to expect with the drop in flow this morning. I started the day with a 35 lb blue cat, then a 22, then the 45 lb big fish of the day. The 27 pound buffalo was an absolute hoot, and I even caught an 8 pound channel cat that thought he was 15. There was another blue cat at 24 lbs, as well as a couple of 5-10 pounders. I left the fish when I started to hurt and got good and tired from hanging onto my end of the rod. Never broke off today either. What a great day all the way around!!!!
