A terrible day. I don't know why I even do this. Oh how I suffer in the name of the quest for big fish.
Absolutely miserable. I caught about 20 catfish. A pair of them were 12 lbs each and fought hard. Everything on the boat worked. The temps outside were mid 70's. The sun peeked through the fog and it burned off, leaving a bluebird sky. A gentle breeze wafted down the river. Current was moderate. The trees are starting to just hint at their fall colors. Yep, absolutely miserable. I'm sure no one else would rather have been there.
Lots and lots of smaller cats have invaded the nuke overnight. Even though I didn't find the fish I was looking for, I had a ball with the 6 lb test again today. No breakoffs, but the leader is showing wear now so it's time to cut off 50 feet of line again and attach a new leader. Several boats were out today and all were into the small cats - most were about a pound up to about 3 pounds.
Today's pictures:
1. Fog so thick that I went about 9 mph from the ramp to the fishin' hole
2. A great shot of one the secret monster fish spots - about 50 yards the other side of this buoy
3. Biggest fish of the day. I look good in a white dress shirt (old) too!
4. Smallest fish of the day. How do they get the hook in their mouth?
5. After this buzzard started circling, I realized that October is probably a bath (or shower) month for me.
