Yesterday I sat and alternately stared at my damaged boat and my equally damaged bank account, trying to figure out how to salvage either one. The Prozak just wasn't helping much.
Today I tore the old girl down since I figured I had a better chance of fixing the boat. I unscrewed and pried, cleaned and adjusted, sealed and clamped, screwed and re-sealed, added more screws, attached the bumper rail and sealed it again, drained the water out of the lower two cylinders of the engine and dried the plugs, cranked and actually had spark, and even got the engine to actually start. The prop is as bad as I've ever seen without tearing off a blade and it will have to go in, but if that's the worst of it I've done well!
Tomorrow I'm hauling her to the lake after the sealant dries to give her the big test! I'm wearing two life jackets and a snorkel and taking the waterproof GPS so I can mark the new catfish structure if she fails to float. Wish me luck!
I will report on the outcome tomorrow - if I can.
