As you can see, I am quite the salesman. Here goes:
First the basics:
1984 Stratos 375V, 17’8”, sliver and blue metal flake, gray carpet
1985 Johnson 140 hp, stainless steel prop, (aluminum spare prop could stand repair)
Stratos trailer by Custom Frames
Motor Guide trolling motor, 24v, 71 lb thrust, digital, variable speed
Eagle Fish EZ depthfinder on front
Lowrance Bluewater Pro 1210A flasher/depthfinder in dash
Pedestal Seats front and back
Live wells front and back
Keel shield
Garaged except for about 2 months due my being thrown out during my second divorce
Manuals for outboard, trolling motor, depthfinder
One owner for 25 years
Asking $2300.00
Condition: trust me on this, she’s in near-perfect condition, like new, only driven to church on Sundays by a little old lady.
(Thunder rumbles and lightning strikes close enough to singe the hairs on my fuzzy butt)
Ok, ok, now that I think about it there might be just a little wear-and-tear on the boat, hardly noticeable, and surely it’ll buff out. But other than that, it’s in really great condition.
(Another lightning strike, and a wisp of smoke appears where my eyebrows used to be)
Maybe I’d be better off (and safer) to put BOTH the seller’s and the buyer’s versions on here. This should prove interesting:
EricM remembers: Slight scratching on the bottom of the hull
BUYER suspects/thinks: Fell off the trailer and dragged 5 miles??
EricM remembers: Custom hull modifications
BUYER suspects/thinks: Hit several dam walls - repeatedly
EricM remembers: Minor damage to trolling motor cover
BUYER suspects/thinks: Hey! That’s duct tape!!
EricM remembers: Trim gauge slow to respond
BUYER suspects/thinks: It hasn’t moved in 5 years
EricM remembers: Scratching on big motor cover
BUYER suspects/thinks: Also hit several dam walls – repeatedly
EricM remembers: Eau de la pansies and petunias
BUYER suspects/thinks: What the h*!! died??????
EricM remembers: Etc, etc, etc…………
BUYER suspects/thinks: No sh…., uh, no kidding………………
So, truth be told, she’s been well used for 25 years and has the battle scars to prove it.
I built a front deck extension that holds the two trolling motor batteries and has extra storage which lets her get on plane at lower speeds – nice in the winter. I also made a removable windshield for the winter – 6 screws. This boat has amazing storage: I carried most of what I own in it. I even disconnected the front livewell and made dry storage out of that. It had to ride any number of inches lower and 10-15 mph slower with all the junk I “might” need someday stuffed into it. New it ran low 50’s, now I have no idea, I don’t push it that hard.
She runs well, no known mechanical problems with the 140 Johnson. The Eagle depthfinder really should be replaced. This boat is normally used 2 to 3 times per week. I have replaced it with a center console bay boat that will be a much better fit to my current style of fishing. I just hope it serves me nearly as well as this Stratos has.
Thanks!! emoBigsmile EricM
