Miss Mary has once again gone out of town to spend a week or so with the grand babies, and I escaped going on the trip by using basic subterfuge and other outright lies. She left at about 7 AM, and by 1:30 PM my brand-spanking new Minn Kota I-Pilot wireless GPS trolling system arrived by UPS. How's THAT for timing??

I couldn't stand it, and I went out in the million-degree heat this afternoon to install it. I have a Minn Kota Powerdrive V2 trolling motor with the Co-Pilot system on it, so I had to remove that before I could put on the NEW, TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED system (which I certainly deserve). Surprisingly, I only screwed up one time and the repair involved using a soldering iron - otherwise the installation went very well. I was amazed that the pop-up thunderstorms all missed me and let me finish the job!

Now I just have to haul it to the lake and give it a good try-out. Ought to be interesting, and I sure hope the learning curve is a short one! I wonder how much bigger the fish I catch will be??? emoBigsmile

Put mine on last September and still getting used to it. I do love the anchor feature though because I fish alot of offshore structure. Once I set it, I can fish that spot the rest of the day without ever touching the trolling motor again.

I have the I pilot on my terrova and love it..There is a man that is making a contraption so that you can also use your pedal on the power drives if anyone is interested...

Now you know that the I-Pilot is vital to the well being of every fisherman. You will be assured of larger fish, less work, and a much better disposition. How do you manage to get deliveries when the Mrs. is gone? I need to learn that trick. Enjoy the toy.

You will love the i pilot i got my terrova on my bass boat lol.Its really nice with the spot lock,Im still learning new things on it,i love the autopilot alot.The only pain was the installation.

you will love it , not so sure on the bigger fish part BUT less work and better disposition (not as tired) are realities with the i-pilot
