Eric's house burned last Thursday in Haletown. His main passion is fishing. He hiked virtually every day down the side of Aetna Mountain to the Tennessee River to bank fish. Eric is 24 with the developmental level of a 13 year old. He lost everything. I mean everything. His mother went to church Sunday in a donated dress and a pair of flip flops (she said people don't think about bras and panties when they give you clothes).

I was scrounging through my stuff to get him back fishing but I'm more of a sip a glass of wine and watch the sunset type of fisherman so didn't have a whole lot to pick from. I mentioned to a friend that I could use some help.

The next day the friend, Jeff Rains of "Clean Harbors" (Roscoe here on CFF), called to say he and Rick Porter of "Choice Walls and Waterproofing" had scrounged up two complete first class spinning rods and one bait caster a tackle box full of assorted lures jigs and tackle plus a $20.00 bill for what they'd missed. All this for a kid they had never met.

I'm happy to report that Eric is fishing.
 
I can throw in some stuff also including alot of clothes and some shoes or boots in size 8 if that would help. I can also get some stuff from my mom for his mom to wear if needed. I also lost most of my stuff few years ago in a house fire. Including my skeeter which was in my garage at the time with all my rods and tackle and its not fun. Much less losing everything else you own besides fishing stuff its hard to get back on your feet again after something like even if you do have insurance and can be real bad if you don't. Just pm a number or contact for sending some stuff.
 
2jigs let me know when you are going to deliver that stuff & I will bring some to you so you can deliver it I am just to busy but I can run it by your house one afternoon ...

I started this out as a note of appreciation for Jeff and Ricky and am overwhelmed by the offers of help (even have a catfishing trip offered from "Foodsaver". I will pass everything along properly.

Digitalcb..... you have to realize that there are a whole lot of caring people here that are willing to help out when needed.  I will be going through things this weekend and I am sure I can come up with household items, clothing etc. and I will be contacting you.  CFF has yet to miss an opportunity to lend a helping hand and I am sure these folks will get it. 
 
I have a whirlpool washer i was going to try and sell cheap but if they can use it I would be glad to give it to them. If someone wants to meet me in Harrison this weekend give me a call. 423-838-1448
 
I know how he feels my house burnt complety down in october of last year lost everything i had you dont know how many people care or will help ya till something like this happens i have alot of things i will give that he can use

I think they're going to a South Pittsburg housing project, Eric is on SSI so they'll probably qualify. They'll need the basics (except stove and refrigerator).

I was thinking about having a garage sale .. but seems like these folks need some of the things I have way worse. I'll get it together and make arrangements for pick up or delivery.

Seems a lot of folks are having this problem lately. A lady at EPB over in Harrison lost her whole house 2 weeks ago in a fire. Luckily her elderly relatives were rescued and the only things lost are those that can sooner or later be replaced!

Praying that the family gets what they need and then some! :) Thanks for the heads up digitalcb.
